PlaceEXPO: Ellesmere Port Development Update

The latest in the popular series of regeneration breakfast briefings organised in association with Cheshire West & Chester Council is due to be held next month.

This event will focus on the latest news and proposals for Ellesmere Port, exploring the impact of the recently granted assisted area status, University of Chester's Thornton Science Park and key sectors in the town such as logistics and energy.

Speakers confirmed so far include:

Cllr Mike Jones, leader of Cheshire West & Chester Council

Robert Mee, chairman of Ellesmere Port Development Board, with a background to the work of the board and key developments, successes and plans as well as the newly granted assisted area status.

Dennis Henderson, business development director, Peel Ports, with an update on logistics plans on the Manchester Ship Canal at Ellesmere Port and other Cheshire and Warrington ports.

Charlie Woodcock, executive director of innovation and development at University of Chester, providing an update on the new Thornton Science Park facility at the former Shell research campus.

Ellesmere Port Development Update will take place from 8am registration for an 8.30am start and close by 10am on Tuesday 15 July. This free event will be held at PlaceEXPO in No 4 St Paul's Square, Liverpool L3 9SJ as part of the International Festival for Business.
