Manchester-based interior and branding studio NoChintz has teamed up with designer and manufacturer of ergonomic IT products Colebrook Bosson Saunders to host the first Kurio event outside London, promising "an evening of creative escapism for the architectural and design community".

The free event is due to take place from 6pm on Thursday 14 March in the Bench Self Made Gallery, 59 Church Street.

Kurio was created for architects and designers to enjoy an informal evening based around a masterclass in topics that include photography, model making and architectural sketching presented by industry experts. The highlight of the Manchester event will be an urban sketching session with Manchester artist and architect Simone Ridyard.

Trudy Martin, technical consultant at Colebrook Bosson Saunders, commented: "We wanted to bring the event to Manchester as we recognise the city's outstanding architecture and design credentials. Because of this, the partnership with NoChintz was a natural step to take; the team has a vast design network in the North West and their participation in an event like Kurio will ensure that it is successful. I look forward to welcoming the finest of Manchester's design and architectural community on the night."

Dominic Beardwell, operations director at NoChintz, added: "This is just what the city needs. Manchester is a hotbed of design talent and I'm excited to be a part of bringing Kurio to Manchester for the first time."

The event will start at 6pm and will offer delegates drinks and a light supper provided by local restaurant Teacup as well as the opportunity to network.
