Place North West is the first title from online media company, PMU Publishing, set up in October 2006 by son and father team Paul and Mike Unger.

Paul Unger

Paul is an award-winning journalist specialising in covering the North West's property and regeneration industries for the regional and national business media. He is a former Business Editor of the Liverpool Daily Post and Assistant Editor of the Western Morning News, Plymouth. For the past five years he has written for regional and national business titles including the Financial Times, The Guardian, Estates Gazette, North West Business Insider, Property Week, Regeneration & Renewal and Move Commercial.

Mike Unger, non-executive chairman

Mike is a former editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, Liverpool Echo and Manchester Evening News - where he was Editor of the Year. He was a Board member of the Guardian Media Group plc for 14 years and a member of the Scott Trust, owners of the group. He has been chief executive of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation since September 2002. He is non-executive chairman of Piccadilly Radio Ltd in Manchester. He was chairman of the North West Arts Board and a member of the Broadcasting Standards Commission.

David Houghton, non-executive director

David is head of corporate finance and a partner at law firm Brabners Chaffe Street, based in Liverpool. He handles deals in all areas of corporate finance, including Management Buy-Outs and Buy-Ins, raising venture and development capital, mergers and acquisitions, and company reconstruction.
